A Product Showcase is a reusable product group built from one of four sources: AI Prompt, Search Term, Category, or Collection. After a Showcase is created, it can be added to supported storefront components such as Product List and Product Carousel.
Note for existing Merchandising Prompt users: In 26R2, prompts are handled as AI Prompt Showcases. AI Prompt is one of the four Product Showcase source types.
Boosting Rules let you control which products appear first. They can be used with Product Showcases, Category pages, and Search Results to promote products that support your merchandising goals, such as sale items, higher-margin products, specific brands, or products assigned to a custom field.

Before You Begin
Before getting started with Vexture Merchandising, confirm your store has an active Vexture subscription and is running a supported version of Miva.
Decide what you want to merchandise and confirm the product data is available, i.e. categories, collections, pricing, margin, brand, or custom field data.
Note: Boosting Rules control product order. They do not replace Vexture Search tuning or determine every product that can appear in a result set.
Create a Product Showcase
Step 1: Name the Showcase
Go to Merchandising > Showcases.
- Click Create Showcase.
- Select a Name, this is how the Showcase will be identified in the admin.
- Optional: Click Add Description to add internal notes about the Showcase.
Use a name that clearly describes the purpose of the Showcase, such as Related Products — Product Page, Featured Winter Collection, or Brake Pad Add-Ons.
Step 2: Select a Showcase Source
The Showcase source determines where the product group comes from. A Showcase can be built from an AI Prompt, Search Term, Category, or Collection.
AI Prompt: Describe the product group in natural language.
Search Term: Use a specific search phrase as the starting point.
Category: Pull products from a selected category.
Collection: Pull products from a selected collection.
Search Term
Use Search Term when you already know the search phrase you want the Product Showcase to use.
Enter the search term, such as brake pads, Father's Day Gifts, or camping gear. Unlike an AI Prompt, a Search Term source uses the phrase you enter directly instead of generating a search term from a prompt.
Category
Use Category when you want the Product Showcase to pull products from a selected store category.
Click Lookup to choose a category. The Product Showcase returns products from that category.
Collection
Use Collection when you want the Product Showcase to pull products from a selected product collection.
Click Lookup and choose the collection you want to use.
AI Prompt
Use AI Prompt when you want Vexture to generate product suggestions from a natural-language prompt.
Unlike a Search Term source, which uses the exact phrase you enter, an AI Prompt lets you describe the type of products you want to return. Vexture uses that prompt, along with any tokens you include, to generate relevant product results.
Configure AI Prompt for Product Showcase
Enter a prompt that describes the products you want Vexture to return.
Use the + button to insert a token when the prompt should use product, category, or basket context.
In the Preview section, click Lookup to select a sample product or category, depending on the token used in the prompt.
Available tokens include:
- {product} — Uses the product the shopper is viewing.
- {category} — Uses the category the shopper is browsing.
- {basket_contents} — Uses the items currently in the shopper’s basket.
Example prompts:
“A shopper is viewing this {product}. Suggest accessories or complementary items that are commonly bought with it.”
“The customer is browsing this {category}. Suggest popular products from this category.”
“A shopper has {basket_contents} in their cart. Suggest related add-ons that go with those items.”
Preview Sample Values
Sample values are used to test the prompt in the Admin. For example, if the prompt uses the {product} token, select a sample product so Vexture can generate preview results.
Sample values are only used for previewing. On the live storefront, Miva uses the actual product, category, or basket context from where the Product Showcase is displayed.
Using Basket Contents in a Prompt
To preview a prompt that uses {basket_contents}, open the storefront in another tab, add products to the basket, then return to the Admin and preview the Product Showcase.
Tip: Keep prompts clear and specific. Describe what the shopper is doing, include the appropriate token, and explain the type of products you want returned. If the prompt returns products that are too broad or too narrow, adjust the prompt first. If search behavior still needs refinement, see Tuning Vexture Search.
Step 3: Create and Preview the Showcase
After configuring the source, click Create Showcase to open the Showcase editor.
Click Preview Results to review the products returned by the Showcase. If the results are not what you expected, adjust the source and preview again.
For AI Prompt Showcases, you can update the sample value used for previewing. In the Preview section, click Lookup to select a different sample product or category, then click Preview Results again.
Step 4: Add Boosting Rules
Boosting Rules control which products appear first in a Product Showcase. They do not remove products from the Showcase; they give matching products higher priority.
Each boost is assigned a priority letter, such as A, B, or C. Boost A has the highest priority, followed by Boost B, then Boost C. Put the most important condition first.
Use Sort By to order products that have the same boost priority.

Step 5: Add Product Showcases to Storefront Components
After the Showcase is saved, you can display it on the storefront using Product List or Product Carousel.
1. Go to User Interface > Page Builder and select the page you want to display the Showcase, for example, Product List.
2. In the Shadows editor select your Flex Component, example: Product List or Product Carousel.
3. Under the Products section of the component settings, locate Product Set.
4. Select Vexture Merchandising from the drop-down.
5. Click the Lookup button under Merchandising Showcase and select the Showcase you want to display from the list and Click Save.
Note: Only AI Prompt Showcases use prompt tokens for live product, category, or basket context. Search Term, Category, and Collection Showcases use their configured source.
