AI Insights

AI Insights gives you a faster way to work with your store’s data by combining the simplicity of search with the power of reporting.

The admin search bar helps you find specific records, like an order or product, when you already know what you’re looking for. AI Insights goes a step further by helping you answer questions about your business without needing to manually build reports.

Instead of configuring filters, date ranges, and columns, you can ask a question like “What are my best-selling products this month?” AI Insights interprets your request, gathers the relevant data, and presents the results in a clear, actionable format.

 

How AI Insights Works

AI Insights can look directly at your store’s data to answer specific questions about products, customers, and orders. When you ask something detailed, like recent orders, a customer’s purchase history, or current inventory levels, it retrieves the relevant information and presents it in a clear, easy-to-read format.

For broader questions, AI Insights can also use reporting tools to summarize larger sets of data, helping you understand trends and performance over time.

AI Insights is designed to help you understand what’s happening in your store, rather than predict future outcomes or provide advanced analytics.

 

Using AI Insights

To get started click the AI button in the top-right corner of the admin to open the AI Data Assistant panel.

  1. Type your question into the input field at the bottom

  2. Press enter to see your results

 

Example Questions:

  • What are my best-selling products this month?

  • How many new customers did I get in the last 30 days?

  • What is my average order value this month?

  • Show orders from the past week.

  • Which products are low on inventory?

You can also click one of the suggested prompts to get started quickly.

Tips for Better Results

  • Be specific with timeframes (e.g., “last 30 days”, “this month”)

  • Mention categories, products, or customers when relevant

  • Ask follow-up questions to refine results

Privacy and Access

AI Insights only uses data available within your store. It is user-specific and always follows the permissions configured in User Management. The information it can retrieve depends on the user groups assigned to your account.

It operates within a privately hosted network, so your store data is not exposed to public AI models.

Reports in AI Insights

Many AI Insights responses are powered by Miva’s reporting system. When you ask broader questions, AI Insights can automatically generate reports to summarize your data, such as totals, trends, or comparisons.

When applicable, these results can be saved as reports and managed just like standard Miva reports, allowing you to edit, schedule, and pin them to your Admin landing page. This makes it easy to revisit results and track performance over time, without needing to build reports manually.
