Copy Page

Released in 10.05.00

Copy Page allows you to quickly and easily copy an entire page in a few clicks. This includes the page template, item assignments, item settings/templates, page title, https settings, cache settings and CSS/JS assignments.

Copy Page is an important tool that Page Builder uses to create new pages and save layouts. However, it can also be used outside of Page Builder to copy any page (or layout).

Accessing Copy Page

Copy Page can be accessed in one of two ways:

  1. Select any page from the batch list screen, click the more menu (...) and choose Copy Page.

  2. When editing a page template, Copy Page will appear under the more menu (...).

Copy Page Dialog

The Copy Page Dialog lets you choose the new page name and code.

There are four options when copying a page:

  • New Page – This is the default and will copy the current page to a new page.
  • New Layout – Since a layout is just a special type a page, any page can be copied to a new layout.
  • Existing Page – This allows you to take the current page and overwrite an existing page with it. This could be all of the page or just some of it (depending on your copy page rule you are using).
  • Existing Layout – This will take the existing page and copy it to an existing layout.

Copy Page Rules

The default rule for Copy Page is "Copy All Page Data." This copies all parts of a page to the new page. However, you also have the ability to define your own custom copy page rules. When you click "Manage Rules" you are shown all your current rules, if you have any, and have the ability to create a new rule.

The default rule for Copy Page is "Copy All Page Data."

Item Settings
If you select specific items, after you create the rule you’ll be provided a link to select which items you want to copy the settings from.

This allows you to pick only the items you wish to copy.
