- SandBox: This option will print sample labels, it connects to Endicia’s test environment Generates sample / non-billable labels Used for testing setup.
- Production: Use this option to print real labels that will be billed to your Endicia account.
- Other: Lets you manually enter a custom API endpoint. It is rarely used (typically only for legacy or special setups)
- Enable Test Mode: When enabled, Miva treats label generation as test requests. It is typically used alongside Sandbox, but may also affect how requests are flagged internally
In practice most users either use Sandbox + Test Mode for testing and Production (Test Mode off) for live shipping.

Non-ZPL Label Image Type
Select the image format used when generating non-ZPL shipping labels.
- GIF: A basic image format with limited colors; suitable for simple labels but less commonly used.
- JPEG: A compressed image format that produces smaller file sizes, but may reduce label clarity.
- PDF: A document format ideal for printing; preserves layout and quality for consistent label output.
- PNG: A high-quality image format with no compression loss; recommended for clear, detailed labels.
NOTE: Use Zebra Thermal Printing When Possible: PR8 Update 8 added the ability to print adhesive backed labels using a Zebra or Zebra compatible printer. A Zebra compatible printer can be used with Endicia, FedEx, UPS, and Canada Post, but currently not with the USPS.
Requirements:
- Your browser must have Java enabled. See http://java.com/en/download/help/enable_browser.xml.
- You must have a Zebra or Zebra compatible printer that can print .zpl.
- Your store must be running PR8 Update 8 or later.
For some shipping destinations, Endicia may not generate labels compatible with Zebra (ZPL) printers. If Use Zebra Thermal Printing is enabled, you should also select a fallback format in Non-ZPL Label Image Type (typically PDF).
Miva automatically checks each label returned by Endicia. If the label is ZPL-compatible, it will print to your Zebra printer. If it is not, the label will be generated using the selected fallback format.
