How do I display an SSL site seal?
Posted by Laura Schindler, Last modified by Jen Ferraz on 16 September 2011 11:33 AM

Installing a 'live' site seal on your site is only possible when using a full SSL certificate of your own such as our GeoTrust, Comodo, and Thawte offerings.

Please keep in mind that installing one of the 'live' site seals has the potential to make your site load extremely slowly if the certificate company's site seal server is down at the time a page request comes in. This seems to happen every few months with all of the certificate vendors, so we recommend using the live site seal only on non-essential pages of your store.

Here is how to add a live site seal, follow the steps for your certificate vendor:

1) For GeoTrust QuickSSL ONLY, (not "QuickSSL Premium") you can use the static site logo available here. Right-click and save this image to your computer, then upload it to the site like a regular site image.

2) For all other GeoTrust certificates, it is as simple as adding the following HTML code to your web page where you want the seal to show up:

<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript" TYPE="text/javascript" SRC="//"></SCRIPT>

3) For all Thawte certificates, follow the steps on this page to receive your site seal code:

4) For Comodo certificates,  follow the steps on this page: Select the logo type you would like, Corner of Trust or Standard, and download the images file from that page.  The click the install instructions for the logo type you selected.
For Comodo EV certificates only, use the steps on this page:
