QuickBooks error message: The name of the list element cannot be blank

When synchronizing Orders, why do I get the following error: "QuickBooks Error: There was an error when saving a StandardTerms list, element "". QuickBooks error message: The name of the list element cannot be blank" ?

When synchronizing Orders from Miva Merchant, there are three different options to display the order's payment method in QuickBooks.

The first option is "None". This will ignore the payment method from Miva Merchant and not associate a set of Terms/Payment Method with the QuickBooks Invocie or Sales Receipt.


The second option, "Create/Use Miva Merchant Payment Method", will automatically create (or use if existing) a set of Terms/Payment Method with the same name as the payment method for the Miva Merchant Order. For example, COD or Visa.

The last option is called "Use Fixed". This will pull a list of existing Terms/Payment Methods from QuickBooks and, depending on which is one selected, will use this Term/Payment Method for all Miva Merchant orders.

Now, if you are using the Order Encryption feature in Miva Merchant, Miva Synchro does not have access to that payment method information in the Miva Merchant orders.

Since it cannot read that information, Miva Synchro will try to create a blank Term/Payment Method for that order, but QuickBooks will reject the attempt, thus displaying the error message.

The current work-around is to either create a new Term/Payment Method in QuickBooks that all Miva Merchant orders can use (something like "online" or "Miva Merchant") or to select the "None" option so Miva Synchro does not pay attention to the payment method information.
