broken image

When I click on "Account", "Sign In", "Checkout", or "Buy 1 Now", none of my graphics are being displayed and in their place is the browser's "broken image" place holder. How can I fix this?

The commonality between all of these different links:

Account
Sign In
Checkout
Buy 1 Now

Is that they all link to secure pages.

All of the prebuilt images in Miva Merchant, and all images uploaded through the Miva Merchant administration interface use preset image URL's when displaying graphics. The images are called using what is called "relative location".

Relative location refers to an image that is called with only the latter part of the URL to its location on the server. Instead of a direct url, such as:

http://www.DOMAINNAME.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/picture.jpg

The page will call the image with:

graphics/00000001/picture.jpg.

The HTML that Miva Merchant creates will use the "Base URL for Graphics" & the "Secure Base URL for Graphics" specified during setup to fill in the rest of the URL that will call the image.

This will allow the software, when being accessed securely, to display the graphics securely as well. To find where you can change this setting, follow these steps:

1. Log into your Miva Merchant administration interface.

2. Click on the "Domain Settings" link.

3. In the main page, click "Site Configuration".

The 5th and 6th fields contain the graphic URL information. It is important that both of these are correct. If they are incorrect, it will negatively effect the way graphics are displayed in the storefront.

Because that regular Base URL is usually setup by default, and the Secure Base URL is not, it is easily misconfigured.

The Secure Base URL for Graphics is sort of similar to your "Secure URL to Miva Merchant". With most installations, it is similar to:

https://www.YOURDOMAIN.com/Merchant2/ (YOURDOMAIN = your actual domain)

Or...

https://YOURSECUREURL/Merchant2/ (YOURSECUREURL = the secure URL to your website, provided by your host)
