Unable to create directory /Merchant2/00000001/

When I try to upload graphics via the Miva Merchant administration interface, I am getting an error similar to: "Unable to create directory /Merchant2/00000001/" and it will not let me upload them. Why is this and how can I fix it?

The first time that you upload a graphic with Miva Merchant, the software will create a subdirectory "/00000001/" on the server where all of the uploaded graphics for Miva Merchant will be stored.

Sometimes, there are factors preventing this directory from being created. In order to fix this, please follow these steps:

• First, if you are logged into your Miva Merchant administration interface securely, logout and log back in non-securely. Test the upload again. Sometimes on hosts that provide users with a shared SSL certificate may not allow uploading through the secure server.

• If you still cannot upload graphics, non-securely, then you will need to contact your host. They need to change the server permissions on your Miva Merchant Script directory.

This is where the graphics are stored. Tell your host that you need the directory to have WRITE permission.

Once this is done, you should be able to upload graphics with your Miva Merchant administration utility.

If you are still having problems after checking these two things, contact Miva Technical Support. We will work with your host to resolve the issue.
