What is the difference between Category "Tree Image" and "Title Image"?

When adding or editing a category in Miva Merchant, you will be provided with a place to upload an image for each separate entry. Please see below for an explanation of both types of these images:

  • Tree Image: Each category created in the Miva Merchant administration interface is provided with a link in the Category Tree. The category tree is an "automatically-created" listing of all categories in Miva Merchant that is displayed on the left side of the storefront.

If a "Tree Image" is uploaded, then that image will replace the category name inside the category tree.

  • Title Image: When a link in the category tree is clicked, the shopper will be brought to the category display screen. This is the screen in which any products assigned to that category will be listed. At the top of each category display page, the name of the category will be displayed in larger, bold letters. If a "Title Image" is uploaded, the image will replace the category name on the category display page.

Because the image will replace descriptive text in each of the areas, it is a good idea to make sure that the includes the name of the category. This will assure that your shoppers don't get lost because they did not know what the image represents or even that it represents a category.
