Background Image
Posted by - NA -, Last modified by on 13 February 2007 10:52 PM
You can use a repeating, tiled image to create a subtle background effect or texture. Subtle is the key to using this feature effectively.

Note: Background images are among the most commonly abused elements in Web design. Background images can make the text difficult to read, and can make the page look cluttered. Be sure to check your results, and make adjustments if the background is distracting. If the background stands out more than it should, modify it in your photo editing or graphics program, and upload the new version.

You can try reducing the contrast, reducing the color saturation, making the image lighter or darker, or blurring it slightly.

When you use a background image, the background color you specified above will generally not be visible. Still, it is a good practice to choose a background color that is close to the overall color of your background image. If the image file is unavailable, or slow to load, the background color will be seen by shoppers.
