Some of the steps required to resolve this issue need a level of server access that will not be available to most end users. If you are a Miva Merchant end user experiencing this problem, you may have to forward this information to your Host, ISP, or Systems Administrator.
To protect the security of your Miva Merchant online store, Miva Merchant does not have any access to passwords for any installations of Miva Merchant. Your username and password are created when you initially setup Miva Merchant on your domain. The password is encrypted and stored in a database on the server.
There are other options, though:
First, contact your host provider. They may have created an outside utility that will reset the password for sites on their servers. If your host provider does not have such a utility, please consider the next option.
Miva Merchant has many 3rd party developers. Some of these developers offer this type of service for a nominal fee. To find a list of Miva Merchant, Development Partners please see our Partner Area at http://www.mivamerchant.com/partners/index.mvc .
Purchase a password recovery service. Contact Miva Merchant Support at 866-284-9812 x3 between 7am - 7pm PST (M-F) or go here.
Any of these options should help you reset your password without having to reinstall Miva Merchant and lose all of your hard work.
