Paypal Instant Payment Notification Configuration

Configure Paypal
To configure Paypal and Miva Merchant:

At PayPal, make sure to enable your Instant Payment Notification Preferences and Website Payment Preferences:

Login to your PayPal account and click Profile and then My selling tools.
Under Getting paid and managing my risk click Update beside Instant payment notifications.
Click Choose IPN Settings

* Set IPN messages to: Receive IPN messages (Enabled)
* Set Notification URL to:

Login to your PayPal account and click Profile and then My selling tools.
Under Selling online click Update beside Website Preferences.

* Website Payment Preferences Auto Return: On
* Website Payment Preferences Return URL:

You must also have the Payment Data Transfer option turned on and the same email address that is setup for your Paypal account in the Paypal configuration under Payment Configuration in your Miva Merchant admin interface.

For the URL's above be cure to use YOUR URL. will only work if that is your domain name. You also need to be sure to use the secure URL to your store.

If you are getting duplicate shipping charges:

1. Login to your account at
2. Click on the Profile tab.
3. Click on My selling tools
4. Under Shipping my items click on Update beside Shipping Calculations.
5. Check in the box at the bottom next to: "Click here to allow transaction-based shipping values to override the profile shipping settings listed above (if profile settings are enabled)."
6. Click on Save and you are all set.
