Issue: Unable to authorize payment: Tax is required.

Related Issue: Unable to authorize payment: Freight is required.


Cause: Authorize.net business manager not configured correctly.


Resolution: If a customer is checking out using authorize.net and the merchant is using authorize.net, the merchant needs to login to their authorize.net account at https://secure.authorize.net/. Once logged in, click on Settings. Under Transaction Submission, click on Payment Form. Then click on Form Fields. There are 3 columns here, View, Edit and Required. If you scroll to the bottom of this page, Tax is the 5th option from the bottom. Make sure the Required Field is unchecked.

If they are getting second error this ca be removed by changing in the same place. Freight is 4th from the bottom.
