Steps to troubleshoot Miva Merchant Synchro

Solution :

This is the basics of getting miva synchro configured for troubleshooting an error.

Step 1- make sure synchro.mvc is installed, and make sure its assigned under the stores utilities.

First make sure the customer has installed the synchro-1.xx.exe (the latest version)
Once this is installed on their local PC, you need to make sure the module is updated. To do the module update, have the customer log into the miva admin, click on the arrow next to modules and locate Miva Merchant Synchro connector. *Note, for some reason it seems like the module is not always there, including v4.23. SO, to get it added click on add module and browse to the following location. C:\Program Files\Miva Merchant\Miva Merchant Synchro synchro.mvc will be in here.

Next, assign the module in the miva admin by clicking ON the first of the 2 utilities, assigning miva synchro connector and hitting update.

Now that they are on the latest module, you need to configure the log files.

FIRST- have the customer create a folder on their C: drive. You can call it anything so lets call it mivaloggs
Next have the customer go into mivaloggs, and copy the path to this file. Just like in a browser, however if they cant do that it would normally be- C:\mivaloggs

Open up miva synchro by going to program files, or double clicking the desktop icon.

Go to the store Settings.
you have 2 debugging text areas in the bottom. QB XML log and MM log.
SO, in these 2 text areas you will put C:\mivaloggs\qbxml.log for the QB log and C:\mivaloggs\MM.log

ALSO, go to the stores Properties. There will be a synchinization text box. Just like the other logs, put C:\mivaloggs\synch.log

the next time the customer synchs, the log files will be created.

As long as the customer can go to the store (through synchro) and click on properties-->products/customers/orders, and hit the OK button on all 3, then the best thing to do is get the latest error message, fresh log files, and screen shots if need be. (also normal FTP/admin access)
