Most Common issues Checklist Miva 9 Google Analytics

Disclaimer: This will work for stores on Miva Version 9.0 or newer. Note that this will require making template changes. Make sure you make sure you are aware of what version was active before any changes are made. These edits are low-risk but if you feel uncomfortable with making these changes then we advise you to seek help from a developer.


Objective: This is a common checklist for things you should check for if a user is experiencing Google Analytics issues.



- Google tracking code not displaying on front end.

- Getting "Tracking Not Installed" error in Google Analytics Admin. Location: Admin > Tracking Code

- Google Realtime Conversions are not tracking.





Google Chrome Extensions

Settings > More Tools > Extentions

Tag Assitant(by Google)

Google Analytics Debugger

NOTE: If you do not have these tools please install them on your Chrome Browser this will assist in troubleshooting. You may also need access to the Users Google Analytics account.



Check for the following scripts in the Head Tag Content section of the Miva 9 Admin User Interface > HEAD Tag Content

You can find the script below in the Google Analytics Admin.

If these scripts are not there add them.

At this point you should be able to detect Google Analytics using the Google Tag Assistance Extension.

Advanced Configuration:

If you have preformed the task above and Conversion tracking is not being detected or you are Getting "Tracking Not Installed" error in Google Analytics Admin.

Consider the following...


Is Ecommerce Tracking enabled in the Google Analytics admin?

Are URLs correct?

Google Analytic Admin

Admin > Property Settings Changed Default URL from "" to "" (This was the main issue)

Miva Admin Utilities > Google Analytics Settings Added "www" to domain (changed domain from "" to "")

Are items assigned properly?

 -Assigned ga_tracking to all customer pages, except INVC

 -Assigned ga_jsencode to all customer pages

 -Assigned ga_transaction to INVC


If this issue needs to be pushed to the Design Liaison

Acquire Google Analytics information from the client.

Use the following gmail account for gaining access
