Price Groups Qualifying/Discounting
Within Price Groups, the concept of Qualifying/Discounting items plays a major role. The configuration of these elements significantly impacts the operation of your Price Groups.
To customize the settings of these elements, navigate to Marketing, then select the Price Groups tab. Choose the appropriate price group and click the menu button.
Upon a click on the menu button, a drop down includes various options to either configure, duplicate the Price Group, export selected Price Groups to a spreadsheet or delete the Price Group.
Note
The available configuration options are dependent on the constituent Price Group. Not all options are accessible for all Price Groups.
Qualifying Products
Qualifying Products are specific items that customers must add to their shopping cart to be eligible for a discount.
To define qualifying products, select Qualifying Products from the menu drop-down.
For instance, if a promotional offer is a Buy X Get Y Price Group, and you want to give customers a free cap for every specific T-shirt they buy, you would set that T-shirt as a qualifying product. This configuration allows customers to get a cap for free whenever they purchase the t-shirt.
Caution
The Qualifying Subtotal, Quantity or Weight must be set for the selected qualifying products to be considered for a price group. If all these parameters are set to 0, the qualifying products associated with the price group will be ignored.
Qualifying Subscriptions
Qualifying Subscriptions refer to the subscriptions a customer must purchase to qualify for a discount.
To define qualifying subscriptions, select Qualifying Subscriptions from the menu drop-down.
Discounted Products
Discounted Products refers to the items on which customers will receive a discount during the purchase.
To establish a discounted product, select Discounted Products from the menu drop-down..
Note
To provide a discount on specific products, it's not necessary to set them as qualifying products. Since these products have to be in a customer's cart for the discount to apply, qualifying product designation is not required.
Discounted Subscriptions
Discounted Subscriptions are subscriptions on which the customer gets a discount upon purchase.
To establish a discounted subscription, select Discounted Subscription from the menu drop-down.
Note
Limiting a Price Group to a Subscription allows you to create promotions on particular subscriptions and even specific terms of a subscription. For example, you can set it up so if a customer creates asubscription to reorder every 30 days, they will receive a 10% off.
Discounted Categories
Discounted Categories allow you to discount an entire product category. As products are added or removed from that category, they automatically get or lose the discount.
To establish a discounted category, select Discounted Categories from the menu drop-down.
Case Study: Using Discounted Categories
For an example, a Discounted Category can be used to discount a specific brand of products, or to create a "sale" category. By selecting a category to be discounted, the product assigned to that category will automatically apply the discount.
