Create an Upsale Product
The ability to create an upsale product is an important component of Miva's platform. To create an upsale product, navigate to the "Marketing" header on the left side of the page and select the "Upsale" tab.
Afterwards, click the "Add Upsale" button to proceed.
Configuring the Upsale Product
Once on the configuration page, there are several details you will need to set.
"Product Code": Enter the code for the product you want to upsell. If you don’t know it, click the Look Up button to find it. This will be the product offered to customers during checkout.
"Display": This determines when the upsale will be offered which can be set to:
- "Always": This option offers the upsale during every checkout.
- "When order total is greater than or equal to": Offers the upsale when a customer’s total order equals or exceeds a set threshold amount.
- "When upsold price is less than": Offers the upsale when the upsale price is below a set threshold amount.
"Pricing": This determines the cost of your upsale product and can be set to:
- "Product Price": Offers the upsale product at the set price of the product itself.
- "Product Cost": Offers the upsale product at your defined cost for that product.
- "Absolute Price": Allows you to offer the upsale product at any price, irrespective of the Product's set Price or Cost.
- "Percentage of Product's Price": Offers the upsale product at a defined percentage of the product’s sale price.
- "Percentage of Product's Cost": Offers the upsale product at a defined percentage of the product’s cost.
Once these are all configured, click the "Add" button. Doing so creates another tab labeled “Required Products.”
Required Products for Upsale
Clicking on the “Required Products” tab will display an accessible list of products in your store. You will able to assign the required product by toggling the “Assigned” slider.
The presence of the required product in a customer's basket at checkout triggers the offering of the upsale product, depending on the "Display" and "Upsale" options previously configured during the setup.
