Volume Pricing Price Group

Volume Pricing Price Group

The Volume Pricing Price Group provides a discount to customers who purchase items in larger quantities.

Creating a Volume Pricing Price Group

To create a Price Group, navigate to the Marketing header and select the Price Groups tab. To add a new Price Group, click on the Add Price Group button located in the upper right corner. Enter a Name for your Price Group and set the Eligibility conditions. For more details on how to configure this, read more here.

Below, you must select Volume Pricing in the type field. Select how Miva will group the products for the volume discount. Your options are:

  • All Eligible Products
  • Same Product
  • Same Product Variant

Afterward, choose the Pricing Method Miva will apply. The choices are:

  • Apply Single Pricing Table Entry Using Total Quantity – A discount matching the total quantity of items in a customer's basket.
  • Apply Pricing Table Progressively – A progressively increasing discount based on the total quantity of items in a customer's basket.

Note: The first option only applies when using more than one row in the pricing table.

For example, if the pricing table offers a 5% discount for 5 items, a 10% discount for 10 items, and a 15% discount for 15 items: a customer purchasing 11 items would receive a 10% discount with the Apply Single Pricing Table Entry Using Total Quantity method.

Progressive Mode determines how Miva applies progressive discounts. For example, if the pricing table is set as mentioned previously and a customer purchases 15 items: the first 5 items receive a 5% discount, the next 5 items get a 10% discount, and the remaining 5 items receive a 15% discount.

With Progressive Mode, you can determine the order of discount application based on the cost of items, either from the highest-priced to the lowest or the reverse. The first strategy involves applying a 5% discount to the most expensive item, a 10% discount to the next costly, and a 15% discount to the least expensive item. With the second approach, the most expensive item gets the highest discount.

In the Pricing Table, specify one or more volume discounts. The Quantity column indicates the number of items a customer needs to purchase to receive the corresponding discount. After creating the Price Group, assign the product you desire to hold the discount inside the Price Groups tab on the product’s page.
