Feeds Overview

Miva includes a feature, called "feeds," that allows you to gather specific types of data from your store and make it accessible for various purposes. The primary uses of feeds include:

• Writing feed data to a file on your store server
• Emailing the data
• Linking the data with a URI (URL). With this method, the feed data is automatically generated when someone, or likely a program, navigates to the URI

Types of Feed

Feeds can be divided into two types:

• Template Based Feeds: These contain product, category, or customer information.
• XML Sitemap Feeds (also known as "Standard Sitemap Protocol Feed"): These generate specific files designed to assist search engines in indexing your store pages.
