Remember that it might seem complex when you integrate a coupon with a Price Group, as you will need to manage settings in both fields.
Features of Price Group and Coupon Eligibility
Price Group Eligibility:
- These are effective without coupons, and the discount is automatically applied to a customer’s basket as long as it qualifies for the Price Group's criteria.
- Price Group Eligibility determines which customers can avail of the basket discount. For instance, if you restrict the Price Group eligibility to specific customers, the discount will not be accessible to customers not included in the list, irrespective of basket contents.
Coupon Eligibility:
- Coupon Eligibility enables you to control who can use the coupon code during checkout.
- If you bind the coupon eligibility to specific customers, then customers out of this list will not receive the discount, even if they have a valid coupon code.
Examples
Example 1
If you want to provide a discount to everyone but only through a coupon, you need to set the Price Group Eligibility to "Coupon Only" and the Coupon Eligibility to "All Shoppers."
Example 2
If you wish to offer a discount only to specific customers, and also permit a different group of customers to get the same discount via a coupon, you should set both the Price Group Eligibility and the Coupon Eligibility to "Specific Customers."
