Manage Quotes Quoted Shipping

Manage Quotes Quoted Shipping

The Manage Quotes module in Miva 10 allows for the provision of personalized shipping quotes. Through this feature, shipping method rules and restrictions can be applied to any custom shipping method. This greatly enhances the customizability of the shipping process for customers.

Quoted Shipping setup

The installation of the Manage Quotes module automatically generates a Quoted Shipping setting in the Shipping Settings. This setting enables you to include a specific quoted shipping price as part of your quote, further increasing the accuracy and personalization of pricing for your customers.

Quote screen layout

The quote screen now includes two distinct buttons: 'Recalculate Discounts' and 'Calculate Shipping.'

Calculating Quoted Shipping

To create a shipping quote, select the 'Calculate Shipping' button. On the subsequently opened dialog box, choose the 'Add Custom Shipping Method' option from the dropdown menu.

Opt to either alter the 'Display As' field or retain its default setting of 'Quoted Shipping.' To determine the overall shipping cost, input the desired amount and select the 'Apply to Quote' option. Consequently, the quote will update to reflect the quoted shipping cost.

Conversion of Quoted Shipping quotes

Upon conversion of a quote into an order, the Quoted Shipping value is carried over into Order Fulfillment. Similarly, if a customer accepts the quote and adds it to their shopping basket, the Quoted Shipping value will be accessible in the shipping selection section during the checkout process.

Note

This interface also allows for the alteration of preset values to offer customer discounts. For example, assuming you offer frequent customers overnight shipping for $20, but desire to offer a specific customer a 50% discount on overnight shipping, simply select 'Overnight' as the shipping method and adjust the 'Amount' field to reflect a price of $10.
