Quote Expiration and Follow Up Emails
With Miva 10, you have the ability to establish custom expiration dates for each quote provided. In order to set this up, you'll want to navigate to the Manage Quote page, select the "Quote expires" radio button and select the desired expiration date.
With these settings in place, the client will then be informed of the quote's expiration date both in the related email and on the quote's detailed view page. Furthermore, post-expiration, the client will not be able to accept the expired quote or complete a checkout using it.
Quote Reminder and Expired Quote Emails
Once the Manage Quotes module is installed, two automated Scheduled Tasks are instantly put in place:
- Sent Expired Quote Emails: This notifies the customer at the point of their quote's expiration. This email functionality is enabled by default.
- Send Quote Reminder Emails: This Automated Task sends an email reminder to the customer at regular intervals as determined in the settings (default is every 10 days) leading up to the quote expiration. Unlike the previous task, this one is not enabled by default. Consequently, you will need to enable it should you wish to utilize it. The settings for this feature can be found in the Quote Configuration section under Utilities.
